How does the free tier work?

Free users get 1 fruit scan per day. This limit resets every 24 hours. You also have full access to the encyclopedia, history, favorites, and achievements.

What do I get with Premium?

Premium subscribers get unlimited scans plus access to advanced features:

  • Complete nutritional data (macros, vitamins, minerals)
  • AI-powered meal planner
  • Nutrition tracker with charts
  • Fruit comparison tool
  • Health benefits and ripeness assessment
  • Storage advice and recipes
How accurate is the fruit identification?

Our AI uses GPT-4 Vision, one of the most advanced image recognition systems available. Accuracy depends on photo quality, lighting, and how clearly the fruit is visible. We provide confidence levels (High, Medium, Low) with each identification.

Where does the nutritional data come from?

All nutritional information comes from the USDA FoodData Central database, ensuring accuracy and reliability. We use real data, not estimates.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel your subscription:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap "Subscriptions"
  4. Select "Fruit Identifier"
  5. Tap "Cancel Subscription"

Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Premium purchases are linked to your Apple ID. Simply:

  1. Install Fruit Identifier on your new device
  2. Open the Premium modal
  3. Tap "Restore Purchases"
  4. Sign in with the same Apple ID
Can I use the app offline?

Most features work offline, including the encyclopedia, history, and favorites. However, fruit identification requires an internet connection to process images through our AI.

Is my data private?

Yes! All your scan history, favorites, and tracking data are stored locally on your device. Photos are only sent to our AI for identification and are not permanently stored. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What fruits does the app recognize?

Our AI can identify 40+ common and exotic fruits including:

  • Common: Apples, Bananas, Oranges, Strawberries, Grapes
  • Citrus: Lemons, Limes, Grapefruits, Tangerines
  • Tropical: Mangoes, Pineapples, Papayas, Dragon Fruit
  • Berries: Blueberries, Raspberries, Blackberries
  • Exotic: Lychee, Persimmon, Passion Fruit, Star Fruit

What if the identification is wrong?

AI isn't perfect! If you get an incorrect identification:

  • Try taking a clearer photo with better lighting
  • Make sure the fruit fills most of the frame
  • Avoid photos with multiple fruits
  • Check the confidence level - "Low" means less certainty
How do achievements work?

Unlock 20+ achievements by:

  • Scanning different fruits (scanning milestones)
  • Collecting fruits from specific categories
  • Using premium features
  • Special actions (scanning at specific times, etc.)

All users can earn achievements, but some require premium access.

Can I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund:

  1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Find Fruit Identifier purchase
  4. Select "Request a Refund"
  5. Choose a reason and submit
Which devices are supported?

Fruit Identifier requires:

  • iOS 13.0 or later
  • iPhone 6s or newer
  • iPad (5th generation) or newer
  • Camera access for scanning
